Beenleigh’s highest selling office development, The York has reached settlement following a record $33.25 million sale to Australian Unity Investment Real Estate Limited (Australian Unity). Sold in July 2021, the seven-storey project was developed in partnership by investLogan and Alder Developments, delivering 4,660 sqm of commercial space to Beenleigh.
investLogan chair Steve Greenwood said The York’s settlement was a significant milestone in the evolution of Beenleigh, firmly positioning the suburb as one of Logan’s key business centres. “The York is a hugely exciting project for not just Beenleigh but for the entire City of Logan, where over the course of its construction and now completion, 240 jobs have been created for the local community,” Mr Greenwood said.
“This project is instrumental in the revitalisation of the Beenleigh business community and the mix of commercial, residential and retail opportunities will create a vibrant commercial precinct designed for local business to prosper. In handing over to Australian Unity, we have successfully contributed to the vision of investLogan and its shareholder, Logan City Council, to drive economic growth across the city,” he said.
Alder Developments General Manager Greg Tupicoff said The York’s settlement is an exciting final step in the project timeline – cementing Beenleigh as a key commercial hub for the district.
“As an A-grade commercial tower, The York is the first of its kind for Logan and will act as a signpost in the City’s growth as a prosperous and well-positioned business hub and commercial landmark between Brisbane and the Gold Coast,” Mr Tupicoff said. “The very nature of this project’s unique design encourages business diversity and will in turn foster a thriving commercial landscape where the local economy will be encouraged to grow.”
The York builds on the overall aims of the Beenleigh Town Centre Master Plan and includes outcomes from the Beenleigh Summit from 2017 – an initiative that focused on unlocking the economic potential of Beenleigh.
The SoHo spaces are available for lease from $400 per sqm, with each offering a total of 119.5 sqm. The ground floor retail spaces are for lease from $700 per sqm and has the potential to be occupied as a 173.5 sqm single tenancy or split into two 86.75 sqm tenancies.
Located at 96-98 York Street, the mixed-use project was completed in September 2021, designed by Conrad Gargett and built by Alder Constructions in partnership with investLogan and Alder Developments.
